Arper throws colour on Downtown Los Angeles with its first West Coast retail outpost

Italian furniture brand Arper has been planting its roots in the US since 2013, and this Autumn it reveals its third stateside showroom in Los Angeles. A stripped down space informed by LA’s relationship with Modernism, the new 3,000 sq ft showroom places colour centre-stage.
Located on Downtown’s South Hope Street, the showroom was designed in collaboration with New York-based architect Solveig Fernlund with a focus to present optimism through colour. Balanced lines, oversized windows and doors, bare white walls and an abundance of natural light define the space, a blank canvas for Arper’s vibrant offerings.
Office-centric pieces include 'Kinesit' desk chairs and 'Cross' tables.
The furniture in the space is divided into two themed areas – an office and lounge. ‘The aim was to create a variation of spaces – both large and small, intimate and grand – that would maximise the experience and presentation of the furniture, all with natural light and flow,’ says Fernlund.
Structured by Arper’s Parentesit acoustic wall modules, Catifa 80 chairs, Loop sofas and more, the LA showroom is a modern set for Downtown dwellers and beyond to experience the Italian brands’ vibrant universe. It is also Arper’s first West Coast outpost (following stores in Chicago and New York), signalling a stateside future as bright as the new showroom.
