Chloé S/S 2019 Paris Fashion Week Women's

Mood board: Over the summer, creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi’s Instagram feed featured images of her holidaying in Greece, humorously clutching rocks to her body on the beach or sporting a necklace hanging with hunks of semi-precious stone. Since Ramsay-Levi took the helm of the house three seasons ago, she’s been lauded for rooting the bohemian heritage of Chloé in a contemporary reality. Her S/S 2019 collection – all tropical dresses in fluid foulards, Grecian gowns and Moroccan print shawl coats – was her most feminine and exotic to date. But like Ramsay-Levi’s hippyish and carefree Instagram holiday snaps, her offering honed in on what we want to wear when we next head to sandy shores.
Best in show: An asymmetric dress with a belt of trailing floral print foulard was a fine take on the sharper yet summer-focused Chloé silhouette, while a trouser suit with a boxy zip-up jacket was embellished with smooth pieces of semi precious stone.
Finishing touches: Each season there’s been a new strength in Natacha Ramsay-Levi’s accessory offering (just look to A/W 2018’s hardware detail Tess bag, or the popularity of its torso pendant single earring). For S/S 2019, she tapped into the unceasing logo trend with a new ‘C’ motif clutch bag – for bolder fans it appeared in orange and purple ombré leather. Elsewhere, earrings came as long hunks of gold metal, lengths of tassel or sunburnt petals framing the ear. §
