Jaguar team up with Bremont watches

Instead of opting for tea, Battenberg and a few extra degrees on the thermostat, Jaguar has continued to break from tradition by enlisting timepiece experts Bremont to enrich their 75th year celebrations. As manufacturers of undeniably beautiful automobiles, Jaguar has a certain affinity with this quintessentially British watchmaker.
Jaguar XJ chief designer Giles Taylor partnered with the Bremont brothers, Giles and Nick English, tasking them with bringing their blend of clean cut, sporting design and Swiss-built movements to the dashboard of the new XJ75 Platinum Concept.
As no stranger to collaborations (see W* 137 for Bremont's Handmade Compass/Watch), the company relished Taylor's proposal, creating a truly bespoke mechanical clock that mixes both functional clarity and a boldly crafted outer metal bezel.
The XJ75 anniversary concept itself is all about contrast, with lustrous Satin Matte Pearlescent White bodywork matched with either dark chrome or gloss black detailing. Inside the cabin the theme continues from gloss white air vents and white glass fibre veneer pieces to the new diamond contrast stitch patterns and suede inserts on the jet black leather seats.
This is a fine example of the ongoing fraternization between high-end car manufacturers and luxury watchmakers. While it could, potentially open up the doors for a future production run, what we have right now is a true one-off.
