Palihouse — Santa Monica, USA

Palihouse and Palihotel owner Avi Brosh has created a trifecta with his latest outpost in Santa Monica. Like the West Hollywood properties, the décor is eclectic yet upscale, this time housed in a 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival-style structure located a few blocks from the beach. Formerly the Embassy Hotel Apartments, the historical 36-room landmark features classic examples of Moorish-influenced Mediterranean architecture. Another first: Brosh will design a lush landscape for the grounds, while keeping the al fresco ceilings, Malibu tile floors and blown glass doors leading from the lobby-lounge area to the private patio. Guest suites are complete with full kitchens, vanity rooms, walk-in closets and high wood-beam ceilings. Burnt orange carpet, grey sofas, bright tufted footstools and custom fabric chairs feature in the living room with signature ‘Pali' touches of flea market art, taxidermy nick-knacks and reclaimed wooden desks. The bedrooms pop with bespoke wallpaper in shades of red and black seagulls from Abnormals Anonymous along with deer antlers hanging over the bed near the fainting couch.
